Complete Air Suspension System | 1968-1974 Nova

Air Suspension System for 68-74 Nova. Includes front & rear HQ Series ShockWaves, upper & lower StrongArms, Tall Spindles, Bolt-On 4-Link and front MuscleBar.

This Air Suspension System is designed to fit the 1968-1974 Nova. This system will allow you to achieve that ultra-low show stance and includes several components that will dramatically improve the suspension geometry to give your old muscle car modern drivability.   

*Some 1973-1974 cars have a different shape frame rail and require an alternate 4-link cradle.

• Tall  “Pin” Spindles will induce more negative camber gain to maximize tire contact patch during cornering. It also offers a 2” drop which allows for the use of longer shocks creating more suspension travel.  Compatible with all brake kits designed to fit the stock disc brake spindle.  

• Optional “Hub” Spindles offer the same geometry improvements as the pin spindle but add the performance and simplicity of late model Corvette hubs and brakes.  Uses C5/C6/C7 Corvette hubs for maximum strength, consistent braking and reduced maintenance. (Hubs not included). Compatible with C5/C6 Corvette brake systems, OE and aftermarket (caliper brackets included).  Minimum 17″ wheels. 

• Upper StrongArms feature corrected ball joint angles for the tall spindles. The upper ball joints have been moved back to allow for additional caster setting to improve high-speed stability and steering feel. Offset slugs are also available for additional caster. Injection-molded Delrin bushings with 13% Teflon are used to reduce deflection and stiction.    
• Lower StrongArms feature a double sheer lower mount for increased strength. We have also dropped the lower shock mount to increase suspension travel and moved the lower ball joint forward to increase caster settings while keeping the wheel centered in the wheel opening. Injection-molded Delrin bushings with 13% Teflon are used to reduce deflection and stiction.    

• HQ Series Shockwaves utilize an impact-forged aluminum body and Monotube design to deliver excellent ride quality and handling. They allow fine-tuning of the ride quality and handling the rebound knob is located at the top of the shock for under-hood access. They come standard with a 1,000,0001 Mile Warranty.         

• Front Sway Bar reduces body roll and creates room for wider front tires. Includes billet aluminum frame straps (anodized black) and low friction bushings.

• Bolt-On 4-Link greatly improves traction, handling, and ride quality. Installation does not require any major modifications to the floor pan and requires only minimal welding to the axle tube. Works with mini-tubs.   The R-Joint rod ends combine the best qualities of low friction movement, lateral stability, full range articulation, and quiet operation into one special bearing that is as home on the street as it is on the racetrack!

UPGRADES

• TruTURN System- The early Camaro/Nova frontends have very poor suspension geometry…the tires lean outward around turns, the bump steer is bad, and there is little room to run a wide wheel because of the oem steering arm interference with the inside of the wheel. The Tru Turn system resolves ALL these issues…the tires now lean INTO the turn, the bump steer is UNDER .050″ through 5″ of suspension travel, and you now have clearance to run up to a 10″ wide wheel with a 275mm tire! Compatible with both the Ridetech “Pin” spindle and the “Hub” spindle. 

• Weld-on lower axle brackets are available if using an aftermarket axle housing without stock style leaf spring pads.   Part # 70010122, sold separately.

• Ford 9″ Housing and Axle Package allows for the easiest installation with integrated 4 link brackets. LINK   

Ridetech 9-Inch Rear Axle Housings: Installing a Ridetech Bolt-On 4-Link into your 1967-1969 Camaro/Firebird or 1968-1974 Nova has never been easier with the help of our Ridetech 9” Rear Axle Housings. Designed to work with newer style Ridetech 4 Link (upper bars are angled toward the center of the vehicle) kits, the 4-Link and sway bar brackets are already welded to the housing making the upgrade and install completely bolt-in!

The 9” Ford housings are a great foundation for putting torque to the pavement. The housings feature a webbed center section with internal gussets with 1/4″ wall 3” diameter tubes and billet steel flanges (New Style Big Bearing/Torino). The pinion is offset ½” and the axle flange is offset 2 ½”. Available in a stock axle flange to axle flange width of 60.25″ or narrowed to 54.75″ to satisfy mini-tubbed applications.

These housings include both a drain plug and jack pad and Grade 8 T-bolt hardware for sufficient strength where you need it. 3rd member studs are pre-installed and ready to accept a third member. Ridetech is offering their housings in both black power-coat and raw for vehicles that are in varied stages of completion to fit customer needs.

The included 31-spline axles are heat treated from 1541H Alloy and feature 5” x 4 ¾” bolt pattern and Grade 8 1/2”-20 x 2” wheel studs. Timken SET20 bearings are pressed onto the axles which also include the bearing retaining plates.

All 3^rd Members feature a Yukon nodular iron case, aluminum Daytona pinion support, 1350 billet steel yoke, Timken bearings and Eaton Trutrac differential unit. The Trutrac is a helical-gear style limited-slip differential that maximizes wheel traction and enhances driving characteristics. Available with 3.50, 3.70, 3.89 or 4.11 ratio. The included LubeLocker gaskets prevents leaking without the use of silicon and is reusable.
